I think I am a brand lizard!!! :/

Post by Lucy »

Alright, listen up ya'll, I've got a bit of a predicament here. I reckon I'm a brand lizard. Yeah, you heard right. I'm a sucker for designer labels like a moth to a flame. I can't resist the allure of a fancy logo slapped on a plain t-shirt. I mean, I recently bought a top from Flannels for a whopping £100, just because it was designer. And you know what!? It was thinner than my £2 Primark tee! But I still feel like a million quid when I'm wearing it out on the town.

Now, I know what you're thinking. "What the bloody hell is wrong with this girl?" And I don't blame you. I mean, who in their right mind would spend that much on a plain t-shirt? But I can't help it. It's like a drug to me. The thrill of the hunt for the perfect designer piece, the rush of dopamine when you finally get your hands on it, the high of wearing it out in public and feeling like a fancy-pants. It's all too much for me to resist.

But here's the thing, it's starting to affect my life. I'm spending so much money on designer brands that I'm starting to feel like a pauper. I can't go out with my mates because I've blown all my cash on a Gucci belt. I can't pay my rent because I had to have those Balenciaga trainers. It's a vicious cycle, my friends.

So, how do I break the cycle? How do I save money and still get my designer fix?

LOL! Firstly, you can try shopping at discount stores like TK Maxx or outlet malls... instead of full priced shops like Flannels. They often have designer labels at a fraction of the cost. You can also try buying second-hand designer clothes on sites like Vestiaire Collective or Depop. You'll still get the designer fix you crave, but at a much lower cost.

You can always try to wean yourself off the designer labels altogether. It won't be easy, but it's worth a shot by slowly buying cheaper and cheaper brands. 8-)
