Just wanted to warn everyone not to use Amazon Web Services (AWS). It's an absolute nightmare and downright rip-off. Don't waste your money on this overpriced, slow, and insecure rubbish.
I had a shocking experience with them. I set up my domain and threw a simple placeholder HTML on it, right? Within a week, my site got hacked and was redirecting to some dodgy, illegal pharmacy site! Contacted Amazon and they said the entire server was compromised - nothing I'd done wrong. Yet three weeks later, my site's still hacked, and Amazon's done nowt about it. Every time I chased them up, I got fobbed off with some nonsense about them "working on it".
Eventually, I had enough and moved to a better host. Costs less, way more secure, and offers loads more for my money.
This thread is for everyone who's had similar horror stories with AWS to share their experiences and warn others. Let's save folks from falling into the same trap.

Oh boy, don't get me started on AWS S3 (Simple Storage Service) . Used it to store some critical backups and files. Guess what? One day, half my files went missing. Just vanished into the ether.
When I contacted support, they had no clue what happened. No resolution, no compensation. I mean, what’s the point of paying premium prices for a service if they can't even keep your data safe? Switched over to another provider that offers better security and way more reliability. Lesson learned: AWS is all hype and no substance. Stay away, folks!
AWS pricing is a complete scam. They lure you in with some 'free tier' nonsense, but once you actually need more resources, they bleed you dry. I'm talking about insane charges for every little thing.

I ended up switching to another provider, one that's smaller but much more reliable. Costs me less, and I get actual customer service when I need it. AWS might be a giant, but they sure as heck don’t act like they care about the little guys. Stay away, folks!
AWS is the worst, especially when it comes to their "security". I had an e-commerce site hosted with them, using their EC2 instances. Thought it’d be safe given their big-name reputation. But a couple of months in, my site got DDoS attacked.
Their so-called "advanced security" features did zilch to protect my site. I reached out to their support, hoping for some quick help, and guess what? I got a whole lot of nothing. Just generic, pre-written responses that were no help at all. Three days of downtime and thousands lost in sales. Thanks for nothing, Amazon!
I switched to another provider with actual DDoS protection that works and a support team that actually cares. They helped me set up additional layers of security at no extra cost, and I haven't had an issue since.

Half of the time, the results were so off-target, it was laughable. I was using their image recognition service to analyze product images for my e-commerce site. The results were embarrassing – mislabeled items, incorrect categories – you name it. I had to manually correct everything myself. What’s the point of paying for AI if you end up doing the work anyway?!
