Do I have Underpronation?
Hey everyone! I've been quite active in sports and exercise my entire life, but recently I've been experiencing discomfort in my feet, mainly along the outer edges. After some research, I came across the term "underpronation". Could this be my issue? How can I confirm whether I have it, and what are the best ways to treat or manage it?

It's possible you may be dealing with underpronation. You may notice that the outer edges of your shoes are worn down more and experience discomfort as you've mentioned. However, I would suggest visiting a podiatrist who can properly diagnose this.

I had the same issue a few years ago and my podiatrist confirmed it was underpronation. I was advised to use shoes with a lot of cushioning and support on the outer edges. I also found exercises to strengthen lower leg muscles beneficial.

If you've got the ability, doing exercises that promote balance like yoga or tai chi can help. It vastly improved my posture and helped adjust the way I walk and run, benefiting my case of underpronation.

First off, I strongly endorse the idea of visiting a podiatrist for an accurate diagnosis. In addition to well-cushioned shoes, you may want to look into orthotics designed for underpronation. There are some good products out there that help correct this and provide relief.

I think you should definitely see a professional who can give you personalized advice. In my experience, using insoles designed for underpronation can provide relief as well. I’ve heard some good things about FootReviver's products, might be worth looking into.

You should consider getting a gait analysis. Not only will this confirm if you're underpronating, but it could also suggest the type of footwear you should be using. Strengthening your muscles may help too. Exercises that target the muscles in the feet, ankles, and legs can be great for stopping foot pain injuries.

It’s important to remember that everyone’s feet are different and what works for one person might not work for another. That said, I agree with the idea about getting a gait analysis and strengthening exercises!
