They’ll start caring soon enough, when things really start to bite.

Hey Man do you think your reactionary nonsense will help? If we want to take the moral high ground then their atrocities must be met with measured justice, regardless of what they did or what the cost of full life sentences will amount to.

How did Cameron get the mood of the country so wrong?

I understand that he called the referendum to silence the eurosceptics in his party but was he really so arrogant as to assume that winning would be so easy?

His walking away from the mess that he created is unforgivable.

I can’t see your working out so making assumptions, but is this like for like?

      A Nissan Micra generates between 85 and 104 g CO2/km.

Which I assume refers to the actual amount of CO2 that comes out of the exhaust pipe only?

      A Leaf generates about 74 g CO2/km.

But zero CO2 and particulates (save for brake disc and tire dust) are emitted into the environment. I assume you’re referencing the CO2 involved in generating the electricity?

Not as much a saving as I’d imagined.

Electricity generation should only ever get cleaner. I live in France and most of our electricity is nuclear, and goes to waste at night during off-peak times so EVs are actually a good store of this energy.

If you’re referencing the pollution in the production of the energy (electricity), then you should do that too for the petrol. Drilling the oil out of the ground, shipping it round the world (not to mention paying for wars to secure access to the oil fields) and refining it all generate an incredible amount of pollution – we just don’t see it.

Aren’t they still on British soil? If so we would be sending them to a country that uses punishments that we don’t . Even if they aren’t British this would be unacceptable so good old Sajid is letting them know that we won’t cause a stink. Would you answer me a question? Why were you watching execution videos?

I rarely use cash these days, in fact, the only place I really use it now is in the pub because it’s marginally quicker with them not having to get the card reader out.

Increasing numbers of pubs have them fixed to the bar, which makes them much easier.

I do have some worries about things going fully cashless though. If in the future, they totally phased out cash and everyone just had a card, which I think is not an unreasonable prediction in our lifetime. Then it would mean the whole money system being taken out of the hands of the bank of England and given solely to card companies like VISA etc.

Not really, the Government can and should regulate providers and provide guarantees like the FSCS to ensure consumers are properly looked after.

I’m not sure we need a Government provider, between Visa, MasterCard and AmEx provision is adequate in my mind (and if you’re concerned about downtime, have one of each). Downtime has mostly been within the banks’ internal systems so if you have a card from more than one bank (or perhaps a backup prepaid card with 50 quid on it) you’re pretty safe generally.
