Family about to kick off! What to do?

Post by Karen »

Hello guys! So, I'm in a bit of a pickle. My husband and I want to plan a big family vacation with both sides of our family, but we can't agree on where to go. My family wants to hit the beach, while his family is all about skiing. The catch? None of my family knows how to ski...

Now, I love both sides of my family to bits, but this is proving to be quite the conundrum with the potential of really kicking off. My in-laws are more conservative and traditional, while my family is more chill and laid-back. It's like trying to mix oil and water, people! I'm feeling like a referee caught in the middle of a heated game that's about to turn into a full-blown brawl.

I've tried to come up with alternative destinations, but no one seems to be budging. It's like they've all taken a vow to be stubborn and unyielding. I'm trying to be a good daughter-in-law and daughter, but I just can't seem to find a solution that will make everyone happy. I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I don't want to disappoint anyone, but at the same time, It's like trying to please two masters at once. I don't know about y'all, but that sounds like a recipe for disaster.

So, if anyone has any wise words or pearls of wisdom to share, I'm all ears. Because right now, I'm feeling like I'm caught in the middle of a family feud that's about to explode. Help a sister out, will ya? :)

Hey there! Oh no, that's a tough situation you're in! 😬 It's like trying to mix oil and water, huh? 🤔 I totally get it! It can be so hard to please everyone, especially when they have such different ideas of what a vacation should look like. 😕 But don't worry, I've got your back! 👍 Here's what I think: why not try to find a destination that has both skiing and beach activities? Think the Côte d'Azur in France which offer skiing and beach destinations in one trip. That way, your family can hit the slopes while your in-laws soak up the sun. And who knows, maybe some of your family members will want to give skiing a try! 🤩 It could be a fun challenge for everyone to learn something new. And if that doesn't work, it maybe a little bit expensive but maybe you could plan two separate vacations - one for the beach and one for skiing? It might not be ideal, but at least everyone will get to do what they want. And remember, it's your vacation too, so don't forget to speak up and let your voice be heard! Good luck, and I hope you find a solution that works for everyone. 🤞

They sound a bit ungrateful to me and don't deserve a holiday!
